Frequently asked questions

How should I prepare for my first meeting?

Here’s what you can do to prepare for your consultation:

  • Gather income, expense, and investment statements (pay stubs, compensation package details, 401k, investment accounts, mortgage, annual credit card statement, etc.)
  • Think about what your goals are – what do you want your retirement to look like? If you’re unsure of your goals, that’s okay, too. We can talk through your aspirations together.
  • Consider what your needs, wants, and wishes are in retirement, e.g., traveling, supporting children or grandchildren’s college education(s) or wedding(s), buying a second home or making home improvements, charitable giving, etc.
  • Do you have any concerns with your current financial situation?

This 10-minute exercise is a helpful starting point for determining your retirement readiness, as well as centralizing some of the important financial information we’ll discuss in our first meeting.

What can I expect during my first meeting?

The first thing we do is listen.

During our first conversation, we’ll spend some time getting to know you and your goals. You’ll get to know us too, which is why every consultation is free. Some things we’ll cover:

  • What a financial advisor does and how we can help
  • Your current financial situation, including current investments
  • Your goals
  • Answer any questions you have around financial planning and wealth management

What happens after my consultation?

We’ll get to work creating a customized financial plan just for you, designed to help turn your dreams into reality.

If you decide to partner with us, you’ll have a dedicated service team who will coordinate with you and any other professionals you already work with, like CPAs or attorneys, to set up your account and put your plan in motion.

What type of service can I expect going forward?

To provide you peace of mind, we continuously review your progress.

We'll create action plans and provide ongoing recommendations based on any important changes in your life. From regular reviews to stress testing your plan so you understand how your plan will hold up against a range of potential market environments and outcomes, over time and as things change, you can count on us to proactively monitor your progress.

And, since you’ll have a team of professionals dedicated to you and your plan, you’ll always be able to get in touch with someone if you have a question or need extra support.

How much money do I need to work with a financial advisor?

Chances are, no matter how much you have, you could benefit from some level of financial advice. We have clients in every stage of life, and investment options that start with a minimum investment of just $2,000.
